Gardenia Dress

This dress no doubt looks so summery, with the bright flowery color palette and shoulder ties, it represents summer fun. I actually want more spring time, summer is here too soon… but it’s better than long winter which is very much not my season as I come from tropical region. So, here is it the summer dress made for my little darling.

Nom Nom Lunch Bag

Though I often thought about sewing a proper lunch bag for my husband, I’d ended up sewing something else. It usually because I didn’t have the right fabric, what I mean by the right fabric is I need the fabric that is thick, with darker shade, and not to girly. Last week I went through my fabric stash and was drawn by this fabric…finally I found the right one, why didn’t I think about it before?? It’s left over fabric I used in wall decor, I bought it from IKEA couple years ago… almost forgot that I still had some left, just enough for the lunch bag.

After finding the right fabric, I was thinking about making a thorough sewing tutorial for this project, but I should’ve known that I shouldn’t be too optimistic about it when your 2T was teething and very demanding. I was lucky enough to be able to get two pictures which I don’t even consider them as tutorial picture 😦

Anyway, I hope this Nom Nom lunch Bag inspires you!

Since I didn’t have fusible interfacing, I sewn the medium interfacing I had to the main fabric in parallel lines.

Whales Dress with Collar

Does any of you notice that prior to this I’d never made my little one dress with collar? It’s because I didn’t know how to make it 🙂

Before I went back to Indonesia early of this year, I kept telling myself to not to forget to learn how to sew collar from my mom, particularly how to draw collar pattern. With all the hectic schedules and events, I eventually, in the last day during my stay,  got to learn how to make the pattern which actually only took about 5 minutes, not as complicated as I thought.

So here it is, my first dress with collar.

Racer Back Dress

I made this dress almost 3 months ago, only now be able to post it. My little one has a racer back top which I like very much and I thought it’d be cute for a dress with racer back style. You may notice the top is the same fabric I used in peach Tulle dress. Initially I was going to use pink color fabric for its upper part but I decided to go with this combination after seeing how well they work together, and I am happy with the final result.

Spring Festival Dress

This is my 1st DIY project this year and my 1st post in 2015… happy new year everyone!

To start the year I made my little one the dress for upcoming spring festival aka lunar new year which will be celebrated on Feb 19. For this special occasion people who celebrate it usually wear red color, it’s believed to bring luck and happiness. So here it is the red cherry blossom dress for my darling.
