Does any of you notice that prior to this I’d never made my little one dress with collar? It’s because I didn’t know how to make it 🙂
Before I went back to Indonesia early of this year, I kept telling myself to not to forget to learn how to sew collar from my mom, particularly how to draw collar pattern. With all the hectic schedules and events, I eventually, in the last day during my stay, got to learn how to make the pattern which actually only took about 5 minutes, not as complicated as I thought.
So here it is, my first dress with collar.
And here is my favorite part,
I made this dress almost 3 months ago, only now be able to post it. My little one has a racer back top which I like very much and I thought it’d be cute for a dress with racer back style. You may notice the top is the same fabric I used in peach Tulle dress. Initially I was going to use pink color fabric for its upper part but I decided to go with this combination after seeing how well they work together, and I am happy with the final result.
This is my 1st DIY project this year and my 1st post in 2015… happy new year everyone!
To start the year I made my little one the dress for upcoming spring festival aka lunar new year which will be celebrated on Feb 19. For this special occasion people who celebrate it usually wear red color, it’s believed to bring luck and happiness. So here it is the red cherry blossom dress for my darling.
This is my 100th post.. yeayyyy… can’t believe I wrote that many. I made this dress specially to be posted today as my last post in the year 2014, my last DIY project this year, and my 100th post. One of my goals is to reach 100 posts by the end of 2014, and I am happy that it’s accomplished. Year 2014 has been a fantastic year to me, hope next year will bring even more joys and blessings … and I am hoping the same to you!
Why butterfly dress? because it’s made for next summer dress, because the lace around the shoulder and sides looks like butterfly to me, and because soon my little baby is hitting new milestone her 2nd birthday when she is officially becoming toddler.. just like caterpillar transforming to butterfly 🙂
This is the project I did almost 2 weeks ago, sewing aprons… 1 is for christmas gift an the other is for house warming gift.
This duo tops sewing project was started first with sewing the reversible hat. The hat pattern is from Oliver S free pattern… This was the first time I used ready pattern instead of the one drafted by myself. When the hat was finished came the idea of making tops that incorporate both fabric so that they can be worn with the hat. So here they are, Birdies Duo Tops plus Hat. This was also my first time making top, the clothing projects I made for my little one prior to this were dresses.
It started with this hat.
The duo tops. One is in birdies print fabric and the other one is in polkadot with bird applique to tie the theme.
Here come the best part, my little darling wearing mommy’s made.
I made this crochet after seeing Martha Stewart project, crocheting pencil case… I have done sewing pencil cases but never with crochet, so I like this idea very much., only this time I made it for cosmetic pouch. The inspiration for the houses applique is from the oldtown Tallin, Estonia, I visited last september… Such a charming historical site. I also added the picture of the oldtown below, so let me know what do you think … Can you see the houses there in my applique? 🙂
Hope this brings you inspiration too !
